Duck race.

Hebden Bridge goes a little crazy when the duck race comes to town.We thought we’d check it out though for a change from the front garden! Basically, you buy a ticket with a number on and lots of plastic yellow ducks with a number on their bottom are thrown into the river. The winner and runner ups win a prize. Did we win? Did we win?!

Crazy busy!

Ooh I'm excited!

The whole town waiting tentatively for the ducks to appear.

Ta-da!

A sea of yellow ducks!

In a matter of minutes the race was over, and all the ducks were collected by people in waders. We didn’t win. Ho hum. So we went for a toddle around town with family.

Can we go now?

Local entertainers putting a smile on our faces...

Shops came to life!

Kids lucky dip bags in local charity shop...lovely.

Then we came home to found out I had won the Kat Got the Cream competition! I’ve won a beautiful Julia Davey mug from the great website From the Wilde who I adore. So, I did end up being a winner today!

Hope you’ve all had a great weekend!

TLC.

Over the past week we’ve needed some TLC, especially my boyfriend…everybody say ‘ahhh!’ So the Bank holiday has been spent at home, resting in the sun. Sometimes, especially when you’re skint, that’s all you need isn’t it? Here’s some of the shenanigans we’ve got up to; soaking up the sun, drinking squash, potting plants, reading Oh Comely magazine, lazy walks with friends, tasty pub dinners, doodling on our wall, catching dandelion seeds, gaining freckles, eating jam tarts, planning holidays and drinking tea. Lovely, lovely tea.

The next post will include ducks. Lots of plastic yellow ducks. Joy!

Bookmarked.

There’s been a few things that I’ve bookmarked lately that I’ve forgot about. It’s a mix bag, but I think it’s time to share some delightful oddities that have made me smile this week:

Royal Tea, anyone?

These tea bags designed by Donkey Products are brilliant. Iwould be forever dunking my tea bag if I had some. Look at Charles, ha! Perfect for a whimsical Royal Tea party, yes?

I adore these laser cut shadow puppets by Isabella’s Art. I’m a big kid and would have lots of fun cavorting around in the dark with these. I love the Alice and the Madhatter one too. Storytelling at its best!

Colourful doilies make me swoon. How lovely are these from Cox and Cox? They are indeed delectable and not bad for £5.50 (pack of 30).  I think they’d add a welcome touch of colour to any outdoor/indoor soirée. Oh dear, I’m starting to sound like Margot from The Good Life, aren’t I?

A Piece Of

I think this is super cute for a personalised wedding present. Even though the bride looks like she has a crown on her head and kind of  looks like a medieval King…hmm. You can buy them from Not On The High Street made by A Piece Of.

That’s enough sharing for now, time for tea and toast!

Domestic Sluttery

Eek! Ah! Ooh! Crikey. Those were the exact words that fell from my mouth when I saw my guest post over at Domestic Sluttery.

Being one of the first blogs I ever read, I was pleased as punch when Sian, editor of Domestic Sluttery and general Wonder Woman, asked me to write a guest post. I’m sure you already read the blog frequently, if not (why not?) it’s a blog, written by a bunch of fab women,  full of wonderous recipes, decorating and design delights and lots more in between. I love it. You’ll adore it.

So, go make yourself a cuppa  if you like, and check out my post here. Eek! Ah! Ooh! Crikey.

Awards: Part deux

I received another lovely award from a very talented crafty so-and-so, called Carly from Carly Makes Stuff. You guessed it, she makes stuff and she’s darn’ good at it too! Thank you very much Carly!

The Liebster Award is designed to bring the recognition (they deserve) to those bloggers who have less than 300 followers.  That’s always nice isn’t it? I like awards. I like them a lot.

So, I get to choose a few more blogs that I think deserve some attention. I chose to pick three. See my other suggestions here

Nice Day for a sulk  is a newbie on the block . When you start out it’s nice to get some encouragement don’t you think? Loving your posts so far Gaelle, long may they continue!

Daydreams in Lace is by no means a newbie but a beautiful blog firstly inspired by her wedding, now the house. I cannot wait. I’m a bit of a nosey parker like that : )

Make Do and Mend how I love this blog! This blog in inspired by things to make and do around Nottingham. With lots of bits and bobs of loveliness along the way. This is one of those blogs that can keep you occupied for hours.

Spread the love!
