Bookmarked: flowers

When the Christmas tree and decorations came down, I couldn’t wait to have some fresh and pretty flowers for the house. They are a gentle reminder that Spring is on its way.

We’re being very careful with our pennies at the moment, like everyone I guess, so they can’t be added to the shopping list just yet. So imagine my delight when my colleague and friend bought me some daffodils last week, just because.

I’m not sure what makes me feel cheery when I see flowers? Maybe they remind me of the outdoors and that feeling of nature and the wild. Or maybe because they’re so darn pretty, colourful and smell divine!

Anyhoo, I’ve been catching up on blogs over the last week and it seems flowers are everywhere. Flowers inspire!

  1. Thank you for the lovely flowery picture!

We have had a poinsetta all Christmas, and it hasn’t made Dave ill, so I am hoping *hopes really hard* that I might be able to have so low allergen flowers!

Otherwise, I will be living vicariously through blogs! (and Pinterest)

  2. I was very tempted by a little bunch of daffodils earlier today, but thought I should wait a bit longer… now you’re making me think again.
Daffodils in January? Why the hell NOT? :-)

  3. I’ve got some tulip bulbs that my friend gave me before Xmas and they’re poking their little green heads up. Can’t wait to see what they will be like in full bloom.

  4. misspond

I’ve just bought window boxes for my flat- alas no garden for me! I can’t wait to get planting!

  5. I think finding money for flowers is one of the thing I loved most when we were able to get away from our money woes. In fact there is a very charming book called “Orchids on Your Budget” – if I still have it I will look it out and send to you if you want? It’s subtitle is “Or how to live smart on what you have” which seems to be what you are doing. Beautiful pictures too x
