Happy February, hello fringe!

Pinch and a punch for the first day of the month! My oh my how is it February already? Looking back, January has been OK. A few ups and downs but OK. It has taken me most of last month to feel creative and motivated but I’m just about there. I decided to not put myself under too much pressure as I could feel my health suffering a bit thinking of all the things I should be doing (diagnosed with asthma too- boo!). Anyhoo, I’m looking forward to this month and all it brings.

In other news I have a fringe! I was bored and watched a few YouTube videos on how to cut straight bangs and the rest, my friends, is history. Don’t look too closely (I’m not sure if they are super straight) but hey-ho I like my new look, I think it’s given me some new energy, ooh-la-la!

Here’s to a happy, healthy, productive and creative February!

P.S Look out for my Natural History blog post after 4pm!

Natural History Post.

Just a quick post to say my Natural History blog post is up. Today I’m talking about stationery – in particular Katy & June stationery…I do love a good pencil! Take a peek here.

As for tonight, I’m drinking lemsip, eating a mid-week roast dinner and snuggling under the duvet. The cold, that I’ve been ignoring for over a week, seems to be rearing its ugly head. Meh. Sympathy! Sympathy!

Bookmarked: Autumn inspiration

If you check my blog post over at Natural History a little later on (4pm to be precise!), you will see I’m feeling inspired by Autumn and shoes. That’s right shooooooes. Shoes and trinkets – a magical partnership.

So I’m spreading the love over on this blog too, looking at the new Autumn inspired Papermash range (a shop I adore):

Flower and leaves tape

Leaves clear tape

Leaf post its

Leaf page markers

I can’t begin to tell you how each of the above fills my heart with GLEE! LEAF POST ITS?! I’m in heaven. I know, I should get out more shouldn’t I? Don’t get me started on the colourful flower and leaf tape (skips around room). In fact, I declare a new law (Lisa’s law) in which every office in the land should be filled with stationery like this. Ah, what a happy land that would be.

I haven’t looked at the Christmas range yet. I’m saving myself. Oh boy.

Tasty stews, Downton Abbey, Brett Anderson and a thrifted cardigan.

I’m feeling very optimistic today, quite positive and generally happy. I think it’s difficult sometimes to say this, without fear of tempting fate, but today I’m thinking what the hell? So there!

My weekend consisted of Lemsip (immune system at an all time low!), a scalp massager, working like a silly billy, listening to ‘Brittle Heart’ by Brett Anderson over and over (the most beautiful song), thrifty finds on my lunch break including; a red knit cardigan, maroon fitted trousers, a canvas regatta rucksack and an enamel jug to decant tasty hot alcoholic beverages! Watching Downton Abbey, plotting schemes and makery with some pretty fabric I bought, reading through the amazing talent that will be exhibiting at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair (very excited!), tasty stews, receiving gifts, watching City Of Men, red wine, our first Ocado delivery (great value and cheap delivery) and writing lots of nice lists…and breathe!

A thrifted red knit cardigan, regatta rucksack (gonna jazz it up a tad!), maroon fitted trousers. The only non thrifted item is this beautiful necklace the OH bought me. Pretty, non?

I'm looking forward to reading this DH Lawrence book, only 50p. Watching Certified Copy, courtesy of Love Film. Hatching plans of makery with these awesome retro fabrics (eBay) and I can't wait to write ideas in this leather notebook (a gift).

First stew of the season (Chicken & Chorizo), first red wine and first Ocado shop!

It was a fine weekend. How was yours?

Welcome home Autumn.

I adore Autumn. Adore it. I feel at home in Autumn with its cosy knits, stews and crusty bread. Its hot alcoholic beverages (Oh, mulled wine, I can’t wait to take a sip!), its windy temperament and leafy streets. The blankets and cosy nights in, the smell of open fires and glistening candles. Oh my. I adore Autumn.

Yesterday I had my first taste…

I wore 100 denier tights, I took my winter coat to get dry cleaned, I bought some boot polish for my old faithful’s, I researched lots of tasty comfort food recipes, bought some socks to keep my toes cosy, listened to Anna Calvi and Laura Marling, watched the day draw dark at only 8pm, and wrapped myself in my wooly cardigan whilst researching books to read and films to watch. I’m feeling pretty thankful that I get to experience the best season all over again. How lucky I am.

The 100 deniers are back.

Oh, Autumn! *does a little dance*

P.S It’s great to be back, I’m fighting fit once more and feeling very positive!
