I have my eye on you…

I have absolutely no idea why I’ve just come across Kate Kanzier. Well, now I have and I’m in brogue heaven (I’m such a  cliché.) I have my eyes on these lovelies. That is all.

P.S There are a couple of new items in my shop. Take a looky! I have so many still to list (including three new vintage cameras!) but having photo editing problems at the mo. I’ll try to get them up before the week is out!

Candy…

This little girl has made my week (Not the best picture, I promise she is happy!) Her name is Candy and she will be keeping us company for the next few weeks! I’ve never had to look after a dog before and she truly is lovely. She gets me up off my bottom too. If I haven’t lost weight after these 3 weeks I never will! The only problem is that I’ve been a little slack in listing things for the shop (slaps hand). Not that I’m running around after her, but because I’m a worry pot and want to give her lots of attention! I promise I’ll get things listed at the weekend.

So, the lovely treasures to be added in the shop this week are:

Vintage – Suitcase, biscuit tin, Abacus, Lexicon card game and cookery book. Handmade – three patchwork hoops & Liberty print button earrings. A few things to tempt you perhaps?!

So, apart from Candy, here’s a few things this week that have made me smile:

Looking through old photographs…I’d like to get creative again with my photos, its been a while.

Presents from new friends. The lovely Georgia Coote sent me a parcel which I received today. I jumped off my seat with excitement! As you know, I love parcels let alone ones jam-packed full of treasures. Thank you Georgia. Love it all!

Things on my mind…

Oh Comely. What a beautiful magazine. It’s so refreshing to find a magazine that celebrates creativity in all its form. Just need to get hold of issue 2 to carry on with my love affair. Sorry regular magazines, I was getting bored.

Candy. Tonight, we’re getting a wee addition to our little nest. Well, for three weeks anyhoo. I can’t wait! (I’m also petrified that I’ll kill her, is that normal?) I’m really looking forward to going on lots of walks with her thus being forced to do exercise. Hope she enjoys her holiday in Hebden Bridge!

This band and this song. Love them.

Some new patchwork hoops I’m working on. There’s so many beautiful vintage fabrics around, they look lovely on the wall and make me smile. I just need to list them in the shop!

Vintage cookery books. I have a dilemma. I bought these for the shop but I love them so much I might keep them, or maybe one. I swear they are the best cook books I’ve ever seen. Anyhoo, they deserve a whole post to themselves so I’ll save that for later in the week.

Bargains. First I spotted the frame, then the tapestry, then the price – 25p. Sold! To the girl with the big grin on her face!

Brown paper packages tied up with string…

I love to wrap. My tools? Brown paper, paper doilies, fabric even, not forgetting lots of twine and a lovely tag…ooh, can you feel my excitement?! GEEK! Anyhoo, when I spotted Knot & Bow I was in stationery heaven (everyone board the train to stationery village, choo choo!)

I use brown wrap a lot with various coloured twine so I’d love to get some of the heart stickers for the shop…love the pumpkin tags too. Now, the only issue (not that this is life or death or anything!) is it’s a long way away from my little home in Hebden Bridge. Oh Brooklyn, why do you need to be so far away?! Never fear, the international postage rates are very reasonable. I’ve paid a lot more getting things delivered from the UK.

Being strapped for cash at the mo, this website will be bookmarked for a while but I thought I’d share with you. I know there are lots of other stationery geeks lovers out there too. I dare you not to fall in love with the pencils…go on, I dare you!

Cake for breakfast & paper dolls

Erm, how is it Friday already? It’s been a very busy week though so I’m not surprised. Launching the shop (hurrah!), working the day job and cleaning the house…I unearthed a box of cookies and some mix tapes (which then helped me with the cleaning.) I love a good mix tape.

Other than shop/blog playing around, this weekend I’ll be at work, and then baking my ass off. I’m really in a baking mood of late. Might have something to do with Victoria sponge. When you start eating it for breakfast you know it’s becoming a problem…

Ooh I did want to mention this lovely shop I found on Etsy. I fidget a lot so these little paper dolls would keep me amused for hours…seriously, I’m easily pleased. How ace are they though?  Jordan Grace Owens is an artist & illustrator and lives in North Carolina. She has many strings to her bow but I must say, these paper cut dolls are my favourites. I love the bearded magnets too, I like a good beard : )

Hope you all have a tip-top weekend!
