Bookmarked: Jeyo Side Tables

20120514-222644.jpg

These Jeyo Side Tables had me in a flurry when the Graham and Graham newsletter dropped in my inbox.

The 50s inspired design along with the pretty coloured table top might just be ideal as a bedside friend. My current bedside situation compromises a small bookcase and the OH a wee cabinet – both handed down from the folks. I think these lovely side tables would be an investment into a grown up bedroom – whatever that might be! At £64 each, it would have to be a saver but definite food for thought.

My favourite would be the French Grey table made with the delightful  Shisham wood.

When did you begin to upgrade from hand-me-downs?

Tote of the week: More Trees Please tote by YOKE

20120509-200423.jpg

This More Trees Please tote by YOKE found via What I Always Wanted (more on that next week) is a Lisa pleaser. Including a delightful mustard yellow graphic print with a polite message – more trees please. I agree. I love trees. I also love politeness.

Each tote is £10 and is hand screen printed by Mr and Mrs YOKE which ticks the unique and handmade box.

Happy Friday!

9 good things.

It is the 9th May today so here are 9 good things that are currently making me happy…just because.

My friends. This was us at the weekend on the first hen do of the year – a slumber party. I may have danced my socks off.

The prospect of a holiday. We’re not going to Australia until next February but the planning (for me) is as much fun as the actual going. I’m beside myself. I’ve begun looking for inspiring Australian blogs (yes, I know it’s a big place) for an insight. If you can recommend any I’d be very grateful (sneak you in my suitcase?).

Beth Jeans Houghton. Her voice makes me happy.

The Make My Dreams Come True Exhibition at Heart Gallery.

Food glorious food. Crikey. We had a spot of Afternoon tea at the weekend whilst celebrating a friends birthday. Sandwiches cut into triangles are the best. FACT.

Game of Thrones. The theme tune alone sends me into a frenzy. I love a bit of fantasy/gore.

Fruit. I have made it a mini-mission to eat more fruit. Fruit and I don’t get on very well. Vegetables I can eat until the cows come home. But fruit? Nah. I would happily go without. However I have been enjoying an apple a day for the past week. Steady as she goes.

Voting. I don’t like to preach about politics but I do think every person, who has the right to vote, should. I vote in respect, for those who fought for the right to back in the day. Hopefully one day I’ll vote because there is a party I beleive in!

Positive attitude. May has been a great month so far and I can’t help but feel happy about every aspect of my life. I’m really loving Hebden Bridge too – come on sunshine. But, the paranoid and anxious so and so that is me keeps on wondering when it will end. Must stay positive, must stay positive…

Happy Wednesday!

Wedding Season

Via Ruffled Blog

I have two weddings to look forward to this year (both include hog roasts at the reception – oh my) therefore the dress hunt has begun. I have three options – working with what I already have (I do have a trip to Australia to save for), borrow from an obliging friend, or purchase a new dress (I have no shame and will happily wear the same dress at both weddings – accessorise darling!). If it is the latter, I’m going to raid my wardrobe to see what I can sell to fund a new one. Conscience-free shopping is the best.

When I’m on the hunt for something new I use a super website called ShopStyle, a little App I have on my iPod Touch. The website is fine of course but I find the App much easier to navigate. ShopStyle basically curates all the shops you love in one place. You want a red dress? Type it in, refine your search, and it will bring up all the red dresses you desire from a large variety of stores/brands. Find one you absolutely love? Simply add it to your favourites and/or click the £ button and if the item is put on sale (lets face it, most items are in the end) it will let you know. I’ve bought various things at half the price because of this super website and it includes homewares too – what more can I say?

So anyhoo, here are a few dresses that I have my eye on – it’s all about patience!

Tote of the week: Blah Blah cotton shopper via People Tree

20120503-205625.jpg

Oh how I adore thee Blah Blah cotton shopper from People Tree.  I talk  nonsense sometimes but I like to think it’s mostly positive chat. I try not to take things too seriously and appreciate every little aspect of this life. However, I’ve come across a lot of negative people in my life and to them I would hold this bag right up in their mush and say “Blah!” – oh the maturity! It would also be a welcome addition to the blah family – can you remember the Donna Wilson Blah Blah mini blanket I mentioned in a previous post?

It is £8, made from organic cotton and I love it.

Cue the weekend (Bank Holiday here in the UK!).
